
Dr. Md Abul Bashar is a leading expert in data science, with deep expertise in generative AI, text mining, and machine learning. With over 11 years of research and development experience, he brings combination of theoretical insight and applied innovation to the field. His work spans a wide range of impactful projects funded by the Australian Research Council, government agencies, and private industry — all with a common thread: solving complex problems through advanced data science.
Currently a MACSYS Post-doctoral Research Fellow at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) School of Computer Sciences and Associate Investigator at the QUT Centre for Data Science, Dr. Bashar is actively engaged in cutting-edge research. His contributions have not only been published in top-tier journals and conferences but have also gained recognition in both national and international media. Through his work, he has helped build real-world systems that bridge the gap between AI theory and its practical applications — delivering tangible outcomes for industry and the broader community.
Dr. Bashar earned his PhD in Computer Science from QUT in 2017 and holds a Computer Science and Engineering Honours Degree from Shah Jalal University of Science and Technology in Bangladesh.
